Summary:

The Campbell County Extension Office is seeking a Horticulture Program Coordinator.  This position will develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate educational programs aimed at meeting needs of county/city residents in the area of horticulture.  Must provide technical assistance, training, and research based information in horticulture areas such as the development of landscape design, insect and plant disease identification.  This position will administer the Master Gardener Volunteer Program and the Community Garden Program.  Must also be able to write press releases, newspaper articles, and Public Service Announcements (PSAs).

Requirements:

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in horticulture.  Two years in horticulture education, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Considerations:

Working Environment:  Moderate exposure to undesirable working conditions or exposure including extreme heat, working outdoors, and chemicals. 

Physical Activities: Essential functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for moderate physical activity such as sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching/stooping/squatting, and crawling.
